Toynton All Saints Primary School is a small, friendly village school with a strong sense of community and a commitment to giving every child the very best start to their education. Due to an upcoming maternity leave, we are seeking to appoint a skilled and nurturing Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to lead our Nursery provision as part of our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) unit for the majority of the 2026-27 academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early years practitioner who is passionate about high‑quality early education and child development, and who is ready to take a lead role in shaping our Nursery provision within a supportive team.

The Role

Working under the direction of the EYFS teacher and senior leaders, the successful candidate will:

  • Take a lead role in the day‑to‑day organisation and running of the Nursery setting
  • Support the planning and delivery of a play‑based, language‑rich curriculum aligned to the EYFS statutory framework

  • Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment that supports children’s curiosity, independence and wellbeing
  • Work closely with parents, carers and external professionals to support children’s individual needs
  • Model high expectations for behaviour, relationships and care
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and the development of EYFS practice

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds a relevant Level 2 (or above) qualification in Early Years or Childcare
  • Has experience of working in a Nursery or EYFS setting, ideally with some leadership or responsibility
  • Has a secure understanding of the EYFS framework and effective early years pedagogy
  • Is warm, patient and committed to meeting the needs of all children
  • Can work effectively as part of a team and use their initiative when leading practice
  • Has good communication skills and a positive approach to working with families
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

We Offer:

  • A welcoming, supportive school community
  • Enthusiastic and happy children who enjoy learning
  • Opportunities for professional development within EYFS
  • Supportive leadership with a clear commitment to staff wellbeing
